The Point Bar and Grill at the Pierhead on Exmouth Marina is holding a free taster session of salsa dancing this Friday (January 15) from 7pm.
The free session will be followed by weekly salsa dance lessons at the venue on Tuesday evenings, from January 19 to February 9.
Salsa is a popular form of social dance that originated in New York City with strong influences from Latin America. The sessions will be hosted by salsa teacher Sonja Heigl.
“We ran classes at The Point eight years ago and I am so excited to be back,” she says. “I look forward to welcoming all ages, guys and girls. Don’t worry if you don’t have a dancing partner as everyone dances with everyone else. It really is so much fun!”
To add to the theme, The Point restaurant will be offering a tapas menu.
“I’ve had a lot of people telling me about what great fun these classes were,” says Richard White, owner of The Point. “I am really looking forward to hosting them here again.
“We decided to do a launch night in January, giving people the chance to get out of the house and banish the winter blues in a warm friendly environment and, hopefully, enjoy a nice evening of dancing and good food. The dance lessons that follow should be a whole load of fun.”
