Withycombe are in action tomorrow (November 9) at Ilfracombe for a fixture that is a ‘double-header’ with the teams playing the match for both league points and a place in the next round of the Devon Junior Cup following the postponement of the game last month.

Withy head into the game in a very good place after five wins out of five matches - it's actually showing as six wins from six in the league table as they also have a 'walk-over' win in their first six matches of the league term.

In their most recent game, Withy were 6-0 winners over Tamar Saracens who, prior to the start of their meeting a fortnight ago had also sported a 100 per cent record.

By way of star contrast, Ilfracombe are not enjoying the best of starts to their league campaign and their last league outing saw them thrashed 85-5 at Exeter Saracens.

Withy head coach Sam Williams says: "After what has seemed like an age it will be nice to get back involved in club rugby, after the disappointment of last week's Rugby World Cup final.

"We took the opportunity to hold a players meeting alongside the colts and the overriding feedback from both groups was that they are feeling really United and enjoying each others company, something that is shining through in both training and on Saturdays at the moment.

"This week we make the trip to Ilfracombe in a league and cup double header, however the focus will be no different; stick to our process goals and the outcome will follow.

"Coming through the last two Saracens based games (Exeter and Tamar) showcased a lot about the boys in totally different ways, and I am excited to see how we go in the next block of fixtures, starting this weekend.

"The boys were a little self critical on Tuesday, but from what I witnessed we have a lot to be positive about, if we can combine the best elements of our attacking and defensive potential then we should continue to build.

"This week sees Jake Prophet-O'Neil return to the starting line up for the first time this season, and also the return of Josh Saunders to the squad to continue his development after a few games back with the colts. I look forward to the impacts they will both have.

"Supporters are more than welcome to make the journey with us on the coach this week, and the more the better. Please see as social media for details and hope to see some of you on Saturday."

Tomorrow's game kicks off at 2:30pm at Brimlands (EX34 9QN). For those that cannot be there, you can follow live match updates online at http://bit.ly/ILFvsWIT or via the Pitchero App.
