Honiton Running Club (HRC) sent six ladies to take part in a very hilly and tough 10k around the beautiful gardens and woods of the National Trust at Killerton, writes Judy Davey.

With so many people taking part, different groups were set off in waves so there was no telling who had won until the very end.

First back for Honiton was Geri Terry in a time of 1:10. Anna Dalzell was next in a good time of 1:14, followed by Debbie Vinnicombe in 1:15.

Next back was Kate Harding, who only joined HRC in January as one of the beginners, in a time of 1:18.

Dawn Peek finished in 1:22 with Rachel Mandrupson close on her heels in 1:23. With 1140 ft of climb, the hills were so steep the ladies were almost all walking them!

The overall winner was Ynon Gablinger in 41.26.

Meanwhile, another HRC member, Emilie Tones, took part in the Windsor Parks Half Marathon as part of her training for the Great West Run.

She had a fantastic race in what were difficult sunny and hot conditions, to finish in a time of 1:44.
