The winners of the North Devon U14 Girls Football League Fair Play award are Bradninch.

The Mid Devon-based side, who joined the league last autumn, finished the season in fourth spot in the table with Bradworthy, Bideford and Fremington all finishing above them.

One of the Bradninch girls' team coaches, Gary Osborne says of the award win: "It's a huge honour for us to win this award. We moved to the North Devon League as we wanted to get out girls playing more football and we had heard good things about the league.

"As a small club - we only have 13 girls in the team - we are very proud of the players who have clearly enjoyed their first year in the league and this award is testament to the spirit they have played in.

"Girls and ladies football is increasing in popularity and we are already looking forward to next season"

Gary added: We are so grateful to our sponsors, the Bakehouse in Cullompton and to the North Devon League for providing us with a great platform for the girls to play football."
