There was a small field of twelve couples for the Mixed Foursomes (alternate strokes) Cup, writes Paul Willoughby.
Perhaps one reason for the small field was possibly caused by there being too many opportunities for a post-competition argument! – “Why did you put me in that bunker?” and “How on earth could you miss that putt?”.
However, there were some whose relationship was strong enough to weather the bunkers and missed putts and it was a score of 36 points that took Richard Tate and Nina Hawkins to victory and so they were the cup winners.
A close second were Mike and Carol Brailey, always a strong golfing duo, with their score being 35 points.
Third, with 30 points, were Godfrey and Alison Kent and fourth, also with 30 points, Judy and Stephen Murray. Well done, all.
