Brixington Blues Under-13s were in fine form as they defeated North Tawton 6-1.
Quickly erasing any memories of the previous outings defeat to Panthers, Blues, despite the wet and muddy conditions, dominated possession from the off.
However, it was the visitors, albeit against the run of play, who struck first with a move that saw them beat the off-side trap before finishing clinically, giving Blues glovesman Ben Jeffery no chance of keeping it out.
The set back was only short term as, minutes later a Tm Dean through-ball released Luke Ewing who ran on to drill the ball home.
A 20th minute close-range strike from Sammy Sidgwick gave Blues the advantage and the lead was swiftly doubled by a neat finish from Ethan Hawes, rifling the ball home from the edge of the area.
Sidgwick scored his second of the game just before half-time and Blues trooped off holding a comfortable 4-1 lead.
The second half saw more Brixington dominance, and, despite mounting some dangerous counter-attacks, the visitors struggled to get themselves back into the game.
Harry Williams bravely headed the fifth Blues goal, getting on the end of a delightful sweeping move involving Sidgwick and Ewing and there was still time late on for Jack McBryan to get his name on the scoresheet.
Finding himself in an uncharacteristically forward position in the opposition box, he shifted the ball to his favoured left foot and unleashed a low drive to beat the keeper and seal a 6-1 victory for his team, capping a Man of the Match performance at the same time.
Blues will look to take this form into Saturday’s League Cup quarter-final away at West Exe Youth.
