The 2019 Honiton ladies' Invitation Triples was a close contest, writes Joan Mackintosh.

Teams from Bridport, Budleigh, Chardstock, Feniton, Madeira, and Sidmouth together with four teams from Honiton played on a round-robin basis.

With two of the teams ending the competition on plus 11, the winner was decided on the number of ends won by each team. That led to Madeira being the winners and the Honiton team of Joyce Granger, Berry Maynard and Hanna Morfey taking the runners-up spot.

In a ladies' Over-50s League fixture, Honiton entertained Crediton Yellow who took the match honours 44-30 with the top Honiton rink being the one of Y Williams, D Hawkins and H Chambers (22-14).

In the men's Exeter & District Over-60s Triples League, Honiton A won their match at Culm Vale 36-31, banking seven points with the top rink the one of D Summers, K Clarke and T Pipe.

In a close match at home Seaton in a men's County Triples meeting, Honiton won 67-66 with top rink honours going to T Tooley, A Hamilton, G Richards ad T Pipe (24-9).

Last, but certainly not least, a mixed friendly away at Belmont saw Honiton beaten with the top Honiton rink the one of R Rogers, M Granger and M Bright (17-16).
