For the second successive Saturday all three of the Exmouth Town senior team matches were washed out.

The next scheduled action for Town's 1st team is this Wednesday night (November 13) when they host Plymouth Parkway in a Les Phillips Cup tie (7.30pm).

Once again both the Macron Devon & Exeter League programme and the County Cup competitions were badly hit by the rain with the only East Devon football left on as at 1pm being the Devon Premier Cup tie at Feniton where the Acland Park men shared eight goals with Buckland Athletic before going out in a penalty shoot out.

There was also action at Cranbrook where the home side played their first ever league game at the Cranbrook Education Centre and they certainly pulled off an eye-catching result as they thrashed high-flying Devon Yeoman 7-1.

There was also action at Bradninch where the home team defeated Newton Rovers in the Devon Intermediate Cup. A 4-0 win for the home side means they will now travel to Exmouth Rovers in then next round which is set to be played on December 7.

In rugby, Exmouth's home meeting with Brixham was all set to go, but late morning rain left the Imperial Ground pitch, like the surface at nearby Southern Road, unplayable.

Withycombe's game at Ilfracombe was off and that has meant that Withy now get free passage into the next round of the Devon Junior Cup where they will play either Torrington or Exeter Saracens.

In other local rugby Honiton were 21-19 winners over Falmouth while, in a Friday night game, Sidmouth won 23-19 at North Petherton.

There was some local football action on Friday night with Budleigh Salterton losing their home Scott Richards Solicitors Devon League North & East League game at home to Heavitree United 3-1.
