Exmouth Under-14 Sapphires completed their league fixtures at Cranbrook education campus on Saturday morning, writes Paul Jenions.

The youngsters went into their final two games knowing victory in both matches would secure the Exeter and East Devon District League Netball Division One title.

First up, the girls played a competitive team from Exeter Netball club, who had run the Sapphires close in the corresponding fixture earlier in the season.

However, this time the Exmouth youngsters fitness and accuracy in front of the posts saw them end the match with a convincing 28-7 victory.

The final game against Honiton Blaze was a much closer encounter providing the watching supporters with an enthralling end to end match with each team taking it in turns to notch goals.

As the game progressed the Sapphires gradually inched in front and finished the game with a well deserved 25-19 score.

Across the eight game season the Exmouth youngsters won seven matches, losing one game by just a point. Overall the girls scored 140 goals, conceding 80 in reply.

The Sapphires team across the season comprised; Bethan George, Isabella Roddick, Alexandra Fulthorpe, Amy Jenions, Poppy Crowther, Libby Symons, Maya Devereux, Esme Amor, Ella Roberts.
