Exmouth have lost two of last year's South West Premier Division squad, writes Conrad Sutcliffe.
Mike Richards has returned to Withycombe.
The back five forward, who left Raleigh Park for the Imperial Ground, now returns to his former club to help them in their bid to make a swift return to the Devon and Cornwall division following their relegation at the end of last season.
Meanwhile, utility back Tom Whelan, who began his career with Sidmouth, has moved back to the south east and joined London Cornish.
The last time Whelan was based in the capital he played National League rugby for Esher and Rosslyn Park.
Incomings to the Cockles include scrum half James Bath from Barnstaple and Jacob Unwin, who previously played for Chippenham, has moved to Devon with his work as a firefighter.
Two other newcomers are winger Lewis Geran from Taunton and centre James Wilmott.
The Cockles are in pre-season action this Saturday (August 24) when they entertain Barnstaple and the 2nd XV also have warm-up action this weekend; they play Topsham at the Imperial Ground on Friday night.
