Exmouth are all set to entertain South West Premier Division table-topping Bournemouth on Saturday (November 17).

In what looks, on paper at least, a mouth-watering contest, Bournemouth will pitch up at the Imperial Ground sporting a perfect played nine and won nine record this season while the Cockles are heading into the game having won all five of their home games so far this league campaign.

Bournemouth have already won at Drybrook (27-14), Camborne (65-7), Bracknell (13-3), Weston-super-Mare (49-25) and Old Patesians (50-0).

Cockles head coach Steve Perry says: “Having had a weekend off I’d like to think the players will be champing at the bit to be involved in this one. Of course the spotlight is on this game, but arguably only because something has to give in as much as they [Bournemouth] have won all of their nine games so far while we are sporting what is currently a 100 per cent home record – one that we really want to continue.”

He went on: “We go into the game effectively ‘blind’, knowing very little about them and I don’t doubt that’s very much how they are thinking about us. What we need to do is seek to focus solely on what we can do in the contest and indeed, how we can play to our strengths to try and become the first team to defeat them.”

The Cockles are set to be once again without the injured Shane Cooper and Sam Richardson remains a big doubt, also through injury. However, other than the two on-going injuries, the Cockles are set to be at full strength.

Perry says: “It’s set to be a thrilling game an done that I hep the home supporters will come out in their numbers to enjoy, and go home happy. If the Imperial Ground faithful don’t go home happy, then it will not be for the want of trying on our behalf.”
