Two Seaton men in court on kidnap charges

Three men have been remanded in custody charged with kidnapping a man in Seaton last week.

Jamie Channing, 27, of Prince Charles Close, Launceston, Cornwall, is jointly charged with Troy Coaker and Sean Currie of unlawfully and by force carrying away a man against his will from Seaton, on Wednesday, July 6.

Coaker, 24, of Harbour Road, Seaton, and Currie, 51, of Fore Street, Seaton, were also sent for trial to Exeter Crown Court.

The three men appeared before magistrates in Exeter where they were also jointly charged with causing grievous bodily harm to the same man on the same day.

Channing and Currie also face a charge of kidnapping a woman on Friday, June 24, in Seaton, and Channing has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to a second woman on the same day in the East Devon town.

The three defendants also face a number of other charges including burglary and theft.

They will appear before a judge on Thursday, August 11.
