Fire crews were called to the airfield


Fire crews free trapped passengers

Two people were injured when a plane crashed on takeoff at Dunkeswell Airfield yesterday lunchtime (Saturday, July 7).

Fire appliances from Honiton, Wellington and Taunton were mobilised to the scene.

The incident involved one light aircraft which had crashed into a field. The pilot had extricated himself before the arrival of the fire service. One female casualty was medically trapped and assisted out of the aircraft by fire crews.

One male casualty was physically trapped and released by fire service personnel and conveyed to hospital by air ambulance. Police and Ambulance service were also in attendance.
