The Act of Remembrance will again be led by the local branch of the Royal British Legion on November 11

The Act of Remembrance led by Seaton Branch of the Royal British Legion will be observed at The War Memorial in St Gregory’s Churchyard on Sunday (November 11).

The names of the fallen will be read, followed by the playing of Last Post and two minutes silence at 11am, broken by Reveille. Then wreaths will be laid at the foot of the War Memorial while at the same time, children will lay posies of poppies on the war graves in the churchyard.

Those present will then process into St Gregory’s Church for the morning service.

Derek Payne MBE, chairman of Seaton Branch RBL, said: “This will bring together local organisations, youth groups, public bodies and many from the local community in a few minutes of dignified solemnity and reflection on those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

“In this centenary year of the ending of The Great War in 1918, we particularly remember those from this community, who made the ultimate sacrifice in that terrible conflict.”
