Police appeal for witnesses after fatal collision
Police are appealing for witnesses after a crash on the A3052 which claimed the life of a teenager and left another man seriously injured.
The single vehicle accident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning (December 17).
The dark coloured Honda Civic with two occupants left the carriageway and collided with a tree.
The passenger died at the scene and the driver is in a critical condition.
The collision took place at around 12.30am at Ware Cross, on the Devon and Dorset border.
The passenger, who has not been named at this time, is a 17-year-old male from the Lyme Regis area.
The driver, a 28-year-old man from Colyton was airlifted by police helicopter to Derriford hospital in Plymouth.
A specialist forensic investigation was carried out at the scene, which resulted in the A3052 being closed for approximately nine hours.
Collision investigators said that it was a particularly complex scene, which accounted for the unusually long road closure.
Police are appealing for witnesses to this incident or anyone who may have seen this car shortly before the incident to contact them by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or call 101 quoting log 30 of 17 December 2016.
