Relatively low levels of reported crime and good deeds at Escot Park, Ottery St Mary, event

Police have praised the attitude and behaviour of festival-goers at this year’s Beautiful Days.

The annual three-day live music event at Escot Park, Ottery St Mary, was deemed a huge success, with low levels of reported crime – down from last year - and stories of good Samaritans.

Sergeant Pete Boorn of Ottery’s neighbourhood police team said: “It was a good weekend. We had relatively few incidents with eight recorded crimes over the weekend. People were brilliant. We had wallets handed in with £250 in them. From a policing point of view, people made our job really easy and it was a good atmosphere. Police would like to thank everyone for great attitude at the festival.”

Of the crimes reported, three were drug-related offences, one a drunk and disorderly case, three thefts from tents and a common assault.
