Exmouth: death of pensioner found at Colony property not suspicious, say police

The emergency services were called to Salisbury Road, Exmouth, at around 9.45am this morning (Monday) after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man in his 80s. Devon and Cornwall Police said a man was found dead at the scene. Police are not currently treating his death as suspicious.

Police are not treating as suspicious the death of a pensioner found at a property in The Colony, Exmouth, on Monday morning.

The emergency services were called to Salisbury Road at around 9.45am this morning (Monday) after concerns were raised for the welfare of a man in his 80s.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a man was found dead at the scene.

The Devon Air Ambulance also responded to the incident, landing nearby at Exmouth Rugby Club.

A police spokeswoman said: “Police were called at around 9.45am today, November 20, following concern for the welfare of a man in a property on Salisbury Road, Exmouth.

“Police and paramedics, along with the air ambulance attended.

“A man in his 80s was declared deceased at the scene.

“Enquiries are underway but police are not currently treating this death as suspicious.”
