Organisers delighted that the popular village event attracted so many youngsters

The annual Chardstock Show attracted a large number of entries on Saturday (August 11).

Organisers said the quality of flowers and garden produce was remarkable given the challenging weather conditions this year.

The exhibits in the floral arrangements, flower and garden produce, home produce, arts and crafts and children’s divisions were of a very high standard. And officials say it was also most encouraging to see so many younger members of the community participating.

Chardstock Gardening Club committee which organised the event thanked to all those who entered exhibits, all those who went along to support, and all those who worked so hard to ensure that the show ran smoothly.

“It was a wonderful and successful village event,” said a spokesman.

Trophy winners were Kathryn Harding, Heidi Ingleston-Orme, Geoffrey Walsh, Jacob Ingleston-Orme, Helen Wells, Bertie Garth, Stuart Ingleston-Orme, Donald Burrough, Denise Clarkson (president), Charlotte Heavisides, Sue Back, Les Ellis and Jill Burrough.
