Rain fails to dampen spirits as Axminster puts on another glittering procession

Although heavy early evening rain deterred some from going, organisers of Axminster carnival’s illuminated parade last night (Saturday September 16) were still delighted with the turnout. Spokesman Ron Jones said attendance was really good, considering the weather.

He thanked the police, marshals, judges and members of the local Rotary Club who all helped the evening run smoothly, without any major incidents.

“From start to finish it went well with very few problems,” he added.
