SONGSTRESS Rosa Rebecka brings her Swedish roots back to The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington on Thursday, January 24.

The accomplished songwriter and multi-instrumentalist moved to Devon in 1998 after winning a place at Dartington College of Arts to study music - and never left.

She has become a firm favourite of the South West Music scene, her gentle and intimate songs and heartrending Swedish pieces, accompanied by a guitar or soaring over the lingering note of the Tibetan singing bowl.

Born near Gothenburg to a Swedish mother and an American father, she has been writing songs and poetry since she was five-years–old, going on to play flute and guitar.

Rosa released her third studio album Songs for Mrs Beautiful in September and has made many appearances across North Devon.

Join her for this Plough Gallery Gig from 8pm on Thursday of next week. For tickets and information call the box office on 01805 624624.
