Comedian Francesca Martinez looks at the other side of normal at the Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple on Friday (November 23).

FUNNY, challenging and defiant, comedian Francesca Martinez will be rocking the foundations of stick in the mud society on Friday with her new show What the **** is Normal?

The stand-up show at the Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple is Martinez’s defiant, insightful and hilarious exposé of her experiences of being branded ‘abnormal’.

This thought-provoking and beautifully written piece from Martinez draws upon her own experiences; from her school days - and being rescued from ‘high-school-hell’ by Grange Hill, to letting Ricky Gervais take the mickey out of her walk in Extras and working out what to say to the BBC after being offered the role of a vegetable.

Whatever body you’re born into, most people share the universal desire to be ‘normal’. This show is for anyone who’s ever struggled to fit in, felt ‘different’ or wondered what the **** normal means…
