MOUNTAINEER Kenton Cool is cool by name and cool by nature – he will be talking about his 20 year career and experiences on Everest on Tuesday, February 26 at The Queen’s Theatre in Barnstaple.

His exploits includes reaching the summit of Mount Everest for a record-breaking 10th time in May of last year and climbed to fulfil a 90-year-old Olympic pledge, taking a gold medal awarded to the 1922 British Everest Expedition to the summit of the mountain just weeks before London 2012 kicked off.

At the same time, he broke another two records - proving there was a 3G signal at the summit by called his wife on his mobile phone and he also sent the first and only Tweet from Everest.

He went on to bear the Olympic torch through the streets of London on its journey to the Olympic stadium.

In 2007 Kenton also guided Sir Ranulph Fiennes to the summit on the infamous north face of the Eiger, at the same time raising more than £3million for Marie Cure Care.

His talk promises to be an exhilarating evening with unimaginable feats of mountaineering, ice climbing and images from the top of the world.

The show starts at 7.45pm and tickets are available from the box office on 01271 324242 or visit
