Archant

Comedy, cooking and a live curry delivery with Hardeep Singh Kohli’s Indian Takeaway at The Plough on Thursday, February 21.

A well known writer and television presenter will be currying favour with his audience during a spicy evening of comedy and cooking at The Plough Arts Centre in Torrington tomorrow (Thursday).

Hardeep Singh Kohli’s Indian Takeaway is Hardeep’s brand new show for a curry obsessed nation and quite possibly the first where a takeaway is delivered live on stage.

So how do Hardeep’s home-cooked curries - recipes inspired by his mum and gran - compare to the local takeaway?

To find out, at the beginning of the show Hardeep will order a takeaway live on stage for delivery to the Plough, having selected a local takeaway from suggestions submitted via HardeepLive.com.

He will order an audience member’s favourite meal and cooks his own food while waiting for the order to arrive.

Hardeep has become a familiar figure on television, as the runner-up on the first series of Celebrity Masterchef, as a guest on Question Time and a regular host on Channel 5’s current affairs show, The Wright Stuff, plus as a regular reporter on BBC1’s The One Show.

His Indian Takeaway follows on the heels of successful live shows Nearly Naked Chef and Chat Masala. Thursday’s show starts at 8pm, with tickets available from 01805 624624 or visit www.theploughartscentre.org.uk. A two course pre-show Indian meal is also available.
