Mollie Hansford was the winner of the junior November handicap in 13:55.

Ethan Day was second in a new PB of 13:18; Hanna Bramley third, 16:03; May Wood fourth, 15:10 and James Knapp fifth, 15:04. With one month to go Caitlin Bee is leading the juniors with 154 points, closely followed by James Knapp 149 and Ethan Day 145.

Amie Sibley was the victor in the senior race in 36:16 with Diane Newton second, 34:46; James Gular third, 20:56; Tim Sibley fourth, 23:19 and Steve Lewis fifth, 27:44. The first four all broke their current PBs. Myrtle Croad is still leading the seniors with 166 points, followed by James Gular 143 and James Sibley 110. All is set for some exciting racing in the final handicap on December 3.

●After her win in the handicap, Amie Sibley accompanied by husband Tim ran the Poole Park Run on Saturday morning. Amie finished in 31:05 and Tim came in one second later.

●On a sunny Sunday morning, four AVRs did the Dartmoor Runners’ race near Chingford with nine-ish miles of self-navigation described as “very runnable” by the organiser (that’s a relative term on the high moor!). Patrick Devine-Wright was the fastest, despite being handicapped by his somewhat flaky route choice on the penultimate leg, finishing fifth in 1:36:20, four minutes behind the winner. Garry Perratt and Alex Todd had a lovely run out, finishing seventh in 1:43:20. They would have been quicker had they not ascended every bit of rock they encountered (one of which took five minutes to get up and down while Patrick disappeared into the distance).

Perratt’s ancient map not showing crossing points over the first raging torrent also caused some adventure with the pair wading it (Garry going in up to his waist) about 100 yards below a bridge they hadn’t seen. So much fun for a mere £2 entry fee ... what a bargain!

Robin Carter was the final AVR, finishing 11th in 1:57:10.
