Mer men washed out in home meeting with Bovey Tracey

Exmouth were only able to manage 12.5 overs of the Tolchards Devon League Premier Division game against Bovey Tracey as the rain struck to wash away the Maer ground action.

The home side were batting first and had reached 76-2 when the play was abandoned. Miles Lenygon (44) and Dan Pyle (8) were the two wickets to fall and new skipper Callum French was not out 19.

This Saturday (August 18) the Maer men travel to Sandford. The Mid Devon men were one of two top flight sides to win last weekend as they claimed a terrific Duckworth Lewis success at North Devon to boost their hopes of staying up.

Exmouth 2nds were left frustrated with the weather washing out any hope of play in their game at D Division East basement side Uplyme and Lyme Regis.

With three games remaining the Maer men’s second string sit second in the table just four points shy of leaders Heathcoat II. On Saturday (August 18) they entertain Sandford before hosting Upottery and then they complete their season with a September 1 visit to Chardstock.

Exmouth III were unable to get any sort of action as rain washed out their scheduled H Division East meeting with Woodbury and Newton St Cyres.

This Saturday, the Maer men’s third team host table-topping and title-chasing Feniton 2nds.
