The next round of the Lyme Regis Winter league produced the closest of finishes, writes Richard Jackman.
At the close there were three players all tied on 39 points - Chris Browne, Graham ‘Doc’ Paterson and Ian Mudford.
Chris eventually won it because, on countback, he scored a par four on the 17th hole to Doc’s bogey five, leaving him in second place.
There were some excellent scores so all played extremely well, Chris and Doc scoring a superb 21 points on the back nine.
Ian can look back on a two under gross front nine, in his score. Matt Brotherton is in a rich vein of form at the moment and got his Hardy B captaincy off to a winning start as the team beat a strong Dudsbury team 4-1 in the opening round of the cup to earn them a home tie against Bulbury Woods in round two.
Although the ladies golf was not played they held a very successful coffee morning, raising nearly £600 in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK
