Lyme Regis Bowls Club held their annual dinner and presentation night at the golf club last Saturday evening, writes Paul Moffitt.

After-dinner music was supplied for dancing by Wessex Star Disco.

Unfortunately, in terms of the night’s awards presentations, the main prize winners, being the ladies’ singles and men’s singles champions, were unable to attend. However’ the majority of winners were in attendance and competition secretary Alan Weech introduced the various cup winners, who were given their trophies by Nola Stephens, wife of the club president.

The most prestigious award of the night, the Captain’s Plate, was awarded to Alan Nabarro who, at very short notice, took over the reins of running the club during captain Dave Wood’s enforced absence.

This award proved to be a very popular choice and is, indeed, a well earned honour.
