Brixington Blues Under-14s were in superb form when they travelled to Cullompton Rangers for an Exeter and District Youth League match that the Blues won 8-1.

However, as good as the all-round show was, Blues actually fell behind to a third-minute goal when the home side took advantage of a defensive error.

Stung by conceding so early, Blues wasted little time getting back on level terms, with Oliver Bradley providing the assist for a Joel Knott goal.

Blues took the lead when skipper Jake Haggerty delivered a perfect in-swinging corner that flew straight into the net to launch a period of Blues dominance. However, they did not have it all their own way and it needed a superb save from Russ Bracey to see them stay ahead before, at the other end of the pitch, a move involving Joe Gosling, Jayden Marles and Ben Geare ended with Jack Drew-Cull seeing his effort well saved by the Cully glovesman.

Marles then provided the assist for Bradley to make it 3-1 and there was still time for Knott to set up Bradley to net his second and send Blues into the break with a 4-1 lead.

Goal five was launched by a fine tackle from skipper Haggerty, who then passed to Harrison Fox and he in turn provided the assist for Ethan Beverley to make it 5-1.

Five became six with Elliott Bowyer the scorer and Haggerty and Bradley were both involved prior to Thomas Rowsell scoring the seventh.

The final goal was set up initially by Blues Man of the Match Jack Drew-Cull with skipper Jake Haggerty the scorer.
