John Dibsdall first wrote reports on Exmouth Town back in 1991 and so is well qualified to speak about the good and the bad of recent Town life!

He says of the current run that has seen the Southern Road side unbeaten in 13 league games and also sitting in one cup quarter final and one semi-final: “We have never had such a run and to the best of my knowledge have never won so many games as convincingly, not even when we were winning the Western League. I know it’s difficult to compare sides from one era to another, but this is arguably the best squad of players Town have had. Whoever is on the bench would walk into any other side in our division. It’s been a wonderful season for all of us connected to Exmouth Town so far, long may it continue!”

Town have so won all but three of their 23 matches in league and cups this season.

Their lone defeat was a single goal reversal to Western league side Sherborne Town who won 2-1 at Southern Road back in October.

On Saturday Town head for Sidmouth Town who are one of just two sides to deny Town all three points this season when they drew 0-0 on their earlier season visit to Southern Road!
