Exmouth Town march on in the FA Vase after home win – all three Town senior teams win – with clean-sheets too!

Exmouth Town are into the last 64 of the FA Vase after a 2-0 Southern Road win over fellow SWP League top flight side Elburton Villa.

Two goals from Karl Rickard gave Town a richly deserved victory and all eyes will be on the draw for the next round which takes place on Monday (October 15).

In terms of the other East Devon side in the FA Vase on the second Saturday of October, Sidmouth Town’s run came to an end as they went down 5-0 at Western League Premier Division outfit Cadbury Heath.

In terms of the other SWP League teams in the Vase – Bodmin Town beat AFC Stoneham 2-1, Falmouth Town won 6-0 at Bridport, Saltash United beat Westbury United 2-1, St Austell defeated Plymouth Parkway 6-1 and Tavistock are also through, they won 3-1 ay Longlevens after extra time. There’s a replay ahead for Iybridge Town who were held 0-0 at home by Holyport. As well as the Sidmouth defeat, another SWP League team to go out are Newquay, beaten 6-0 at Bounrnemouth FC and Torpoint Athletic, who were beaten 1-0 at home by Sholing.

In the Macron League top flight Exmouth Town Reserve’s were 3-0 winners at Topsham Town.

The local derby in Division Three at Greenway Lane saw Budleigh Salterton Reserves beaten 4-1 by high-flying East Budleigh.

Completing an excellent day for Exmouth Town were the third team who won their Macron League Division Eight home game against Amory Green Rovers 3-0.

There were some local sides in Devon Senior Cup action with Lympstone making progress, beating Boca Seniors 3-1 while Otterton were involved in a 10-goal clash with Bideford Community, beating the North Devon League side 6-4.

In the Devon Intermediate Cup, East Budleigh Reserves were edged out 2-0 at home by North Devon side Bridgerule and Otterton Reserves were beaten 12-1 at Watts Blake and Bearne.
