Competing in the Bideford 10k, Exmouth Harrier Ray Elston continued his dominance of the V75 age group with yet another win and this just a day before his 78th birthday, writes Cathy Newman.

Ray finished 278th from 1,037 finishers which placed him in the top 27 per cent for all those completing the distance.

The route goes from Bideford to Instow and back with the second part being run into a strong headwind.

Kelly Thomas, another Harrier to be recovering from the London Marathon, managed a creditable 47:55 for 10th in the V40.
