The club 2018 AGM was held on October 10 at Lympstone Village Hall. Chairperson Collette Ashby-Crane welcomed members and guests and commenced with a round-up of the year’s events.

Two successful training clinics were held in April, run by instructor Jo Pulleyblank. These were followed by a 10-mile spring pleasure ride across Woodbury Common, which attracted good entries, as did the three competitive events held at Nutwell Court.

These events were blessed with excellent weather and enjoyed by all. Collette took the opportunity of thanking all who had helped at these events (preceding, on the day and after), stressing that this invaluable help is so necessary if the club is to succeed.

She went on to thank the sponsors, many of whom had helped the club for many years, with a special thank you to Nigel and Paula Lee for allowing us to hold the events at Nutwell.

Following the treasurer’s report, which showed a healthy bank balance to take the club into 2019, the annual awards were presented. First in the Junior awards was 12-year-old Kirsty Mabin from Buckfastleigh, second was eight-year-old Teagan Browne and third was nine-year-old Sophie Goodall. Sophie attended with her mother Jenny who was placed fifth in the Senior Awards, a real family affair, something that has not happened before. Winner of the Senior section was Chloe Wyllie.
