East Devon Golf Club celebrated the achievements of its trophy winners in a silverware-filled evening at the Budleigh Salterton club.

Trophy winners, club members and their families came together in an evening of celebration as club champions and major trophy winners were formally presented with their awards for 2017.

The celebrations started with the presentation of a cheque marking the culmination of the members’ year of charity fundraising.

The 2017 captains, Glen Page and Judy Murray, presented Martine Osbourne of Devon Young Carers with a cheque for £12,000.

In Devon County success, Jim Colvin was presented with the Seniors Order of Merit by Rick Pillow from Devon Golf Limited.

Ladies’ Champion Helen Chivers also picked up the Baker Cup and was successful with husband Dennis in the much sought-after married mixed foursomes knockout, the Tosh Cup.

Dennis also lifted the oldest trophy in the club, the Pine Coffin Cup, presented by Captain Glen.

Meanwhile, Barry Gates was presented with the coveted Clinton Vase, presented by Club President, Lord Clinton to mark the 100th anniversary of the club in 2002.

And last, but by no means least, the captains showed that holding office was no hindrance to golfing success. Judy and Glen raised the Law Salvers knockout trophy.
