The youngster’s father, Paul Drew, retained his single’s crown, beating Julian Cook in the final and then the ‘senior’ Drew on finals duty, Bryan, (grandfather to Hosias and dad of Paul) paired up with Jacky Sherwood to defeat David Allen and Sally Cunliffe in the mixed doubles.

With weather playing a part in proceedings the final matches had to be run over three days. The ladies single’s title was won by Sally Cunliffe, who beat Serena Kerr and the men’s doubles title was won by Graham Cumming and Chris Cunliffe after they defeated Bryan Drew and Alan Jackson in another well-contested match.
