Drew-Cull at the double as Blues Under-14s net five

Brixington Blues Under-14s defeated Pinhoe Spartans 5-0 in an Exeter and District Youth League match.

Blues began well and opened the scoring with a classic ‘team’ goal. Jake Haggerty and Harrison Fox combined to snuff out a Spartans raid and then Joel Knott was also involved before Jack Drew-Cull rifled the ball into the top corner of the net!

That remained the score at half-time, but only because Blues’ glovesman Russ Bracey made a wonderful save to deny Spartans an equaliser.

Early in the second half, Lewis Ayley provided the assist for Elliott Bowyer to double the lead and then, after a couple of smart stops by Bracey, Blues went 3-0 up with a Thomas Roswell goal.

Skipper Jake Haggerty initiated the move that led to the fourth goal; Fox and Ethan Beverley were also part of the build-up prior to a smear [STEVE ?smear?] finish from Drew-Cull.

Haggerty then set up Beverley to tuck home the fifth and final goal. The Blues’ Man of the Match award went to Jack Drew-Cull.
