In a game packed with action, and a number of yellow cards, Withy scored three tries before the interval and added four more in the second half.

Withy scored first when, after some good work at the scrum, the ball broke for Withy to score in the corner with Will Cornish crossing the white wash.

However, the lead did not last long as Saracens hit straight back with a catch and drive try to leave the score at 5-5. End-to-end action followed with Withy enjoying the bulk of the possession, but there were no further scores until a good kick from Will Cooper and a good bounce saw the ball well taken by Matt Shaw-Smith to dot down. The conversion was also scored and Withy soon scored a third try after some fine work by the back line that ended with Lewis Hillier scoring and, with the conversion also slotted, Withy trooped off with a 19-5 lead at half-time. The early exchanges of the second half were of a ‘scrappy’ nature and both sides picked up a yellow card. Eventually Withy rediscovered their first-half form and, from a scrum on the Saracens’ five metre line, Will Cornish, now playing in the number eight role, picked up and eased his way over. A second yellow card was issued to both sides before, following some strong play by the backs combined with forward domination, prop Matt Hicks scored in the corner. There was still time for the unpredictable running of Tom Humphrey to pay dividends as he crossed for the final try. Special mention, from what was a good all-round team show, must be made of the performances of Will Cooper and Lewis Hillier, whose kicking was spot on all match. Meanwhile, the Withy Man of the Match awards went to Tom Real and Matt Oliver.
