The Axe Cliff senior section played their Winter League match on the first day of December, writes Pete Motson.

The top pairing was the one of David Evans and Bill Polley with a score of 33 points.

Second place was claimed by Brian Thompson and John Hanna with a score of 30 points and close behind, but having to settle for third place, were Leighton Morgan and Rob Heard with their score being 29 points.

There were a brace of twos recorded and they were struck by Robbie Robinson and Dave Bruce.
