Firefighters rescued a woman trapped in an overturned car at Clyst St George

A woman trapped in an overturned car involved in a collision at Clyst St George on Thursday night was rescued by firefighters.

Crews from Exeter were called to the Woodbury Road at around 4.30pm.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Crews confirmed on arrival one vehicle to be inverted on the highway with one female occupant trapped.

“Crews stabilised the vehicle and used hydraulic rescue equipment to rescue the casualty.”

The woman was cared for by the ambulance service.
