The Wurzels take Axminster by storm

People of all ages enjoy a night to remember in The Guildhall.
West Country pop icons The Wurzels took Axminster by storm during a sell out performance in The Guildhall last Friday night.
The capacity crowd included people of all ages, from teenagers to elderly pensioners.
Around 400 tickets sold out well in advance of the show - The Wurzels’ first performance in Axminster since 1973.
In a show that has put The Guildhall back on the map, the audience was treated to an hour-long musical extravaganza which featured all the band’s classic hits - including I am a cider drinker and I’ve got a combine harvester.
There was a stage invasion when Tommy Banner stripped down to his undies, revealing a skimpy, black G-string.
“I got to see more of The Wurzels than I was expecting,” said one thoroughly entertained audience member.
Owned by Axminster Town Council and run by a management group, The Guildhall showed itself off in a most positive light.
