A campaign to tackle the stigma and lack of understanding around dementia is growing in Seaton.

Karen Curnock, a local Dementia Friends Champion, is running another public information session at Seaton Library, Queen Street, on Monday, October 23 at 2pm.

She hopes that local business people and members of the general public will go along to one of the sessions, which last an hour.

This is in addition to sessions in the Gateway, Seaton Town Hall, Fore Street, at 10am on Fridays November 3 and December 1.

Meanwhile some 15 members of Seaton and District Lions became Dementia Friends at a workshop run by Yvonne Addington, a Dementia Champion.

Dementia Friends is a Government initiative. There is a working party campaigning to get Seaton designated a Dementia Friendly Town.

If anyone would like to hold Dementia Friends workshops for friends, family, work colleagues, club members they should contact Yvonne Addington on 07827813776
