Group celebrates its third birthday with a trip back in time
Seaton Memory Café’s third birthday was celebrated with a visit to Exmouth Country Park.
The attraction offers a great collection of bygone memorabilia and members had a fun time going down memory lane.
Speaking after the anniversary celebrations, memory cafe organiser Yvonne Addington said: “I would like, on behalf of all of the members of Seaton Memory Café, to say a big thank you to all the people and organisations who donate funds to us, which makes our trips achievable.
“Evidence states that people who live with dementia and who experience cognitive decline and continue to engage in social activities maintain their self esteem, which is an important part of our very being.”
The group’s next meeting is on August 7, 2pm to 4pm, at Seaton Methodist Church and is open to anyone who has a diagnosis of dementia, memory loss or cognitive decline.
“Come a check us out, we can offer advice, friendships, most importantly support,” added Yvonne.
