Health bosses are asking patients, carers, friends and family to give feedback and help improve future services

People in East Devon are being asked to share their end-of-life-care experiences in order to help improve services for the future.

Health bosses are hoping to hear from patients themselves, or family, friends and carers to address matters such as whether they felt able to ask questions, or voice concerns, and if dignity, compassion and respect were demonstrated.

The Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is conducting the survey for East Devon and feedback will inform practice in the future and prompt action to improve services where necessary.

Speaking on behalf of the CCG, Dr Rick Mejzner said: “We appreciate that it can be a hard subject to talk about which is why any insight you can give is so valuable to us and important in helping make services excellent for others in the future.

“You can remain anonymous or leave contact details should you wish to. The responses you give will not be attributed to you, whether or not you supply contact details, and all responses will be confidential and used only in general form to provide an overview of care.

“The information you provide will help us remove variation in care, and commission services that meet the needs of patients better.”

The survey is available via www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/EOLSDTCCG until Saturday, April 1, 2017.

If anyone needs help with the survey, requires additional copies or would like to request a copy by post, they can call 01392 267 665 (Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm) or email PALS.Devon@nhs.net.
