Peter Burrows is unanimously elected the town’s First Citzen

Councillor Peter Burrows has been unanimously elected as Seaton’s new town mayor for a third time.

He succeeds Jack Rowland and his deputy will be Ken Beer.

Cllr Burrows has been a town councillor since 1999 and has served 12 years as an East Devon district councillor.

He says his passion is the continuing success of the Seaton Carnival.

He has been recently involved with the promotion of Seaton Markets to encourage visitors to come and spend their time and money in Seaton.

Cllr Burrows believes that with good publicity Seaton can achieve greater things with events officer Juliette Williams already putting on new activities.

The new First Citizen is currently involved with Seaton’s entry in the South West in Bloom competition and will be working closely with Town Clerk Amy Tregellas, and the rest of the council in ensuring they put in a good entry.

Anyone wishing to sponsor a display should contact Hester on 01297 21388 at Seaton Town Council.
