Monthly meetings will offer help and advice to anyone on the Autistic Spectrum

A new support group is being launched in Axminster this month for adults with Aspergers and High Function Autism.

It is open to anyone over 25 who is, or thinks they may be, on the Autistic Spectrum.

Organisers say everyone is welcome to go along and share experienecs whether they have a formal diagnosis, self-diagnosis, or are unsure. They can have a chat over a cuppa and offer and receive advice in a safe and friendly environment.

The group will meet for the first time on Monday, November 12, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm at Pippins Community Centre.

It is free to attend, although donations are welcome to cover the cost of tea and coffee.

The Axe Adult Asperger’s Support Group will be facilitated by Debbie Humberstone, founder of The Project, the young people’s early intervention mental health group.

She said: “I feel very honoured to have been asked to lead this group, and look forward to welcoming people along to this relaxed and friendly space.”
