The money is shared between two worthy causes

Forde Abbey Summer Fair raised £30,000 for two worthy causes this year.

The money has been shared between the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institute (RABI) and Riding for the Disabled incorporating Carriage Driving (RDA).

The cheques for £15K each were presented to both charities at a lunch held at Forde Abbey to thank the volunteer committee and the sponsors.

Both charities thanked everyone involved and those that attended the fair for their generous financial contributions to their causes.

RABI Regional Manager, Pam Wills said: “We value greatly the funds we receive annually from the Forde Abbey Summer Charity Fair. It really does make a difference to the lives of farming families who are in financial need in the agricultural sector

Tessa Eames on behalf of the local Riding for the Disabled Groups said: “Another brilliant Forde Abbey Fair for 2018....so well supported for an amazing family day out in wonderful surroundings, hard to beat. The local Riding for the Disabled Groups would like to thank the Forde Abbey Fair for supporting such a worthwhile charity again this year. We are totally self funding, so are hugely grateful as the funds will go towards helping others who benefit from both the Riding and Carriage Driving side of the association.”

Summer Charity Fair chairman, Alice Kennard said: “We are thrilled to have raised such a significant amount of money for two fantastic charities.

“The annual fair is very much a family and team effort with valued support and help from our very loyal volunteers and our generous sponsors who all work together to make it a day to remember. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making it another successful day.”

The date for next year’s Charity Fair is Thursday July 24. Any business or individual who would like to get involved should contact Forde Abbey on 01460 220231 or email info@fordeabbey.co.uk

RABI is a welfare charity which supports farming people of all ages if they are in financial difficulty and of limited means.
