Man’s body recovered from River Exe

The body of a man in his 70s has been recovered from the River Exe at Topsham.

A police spokesman said the body was recovered at 2pm yesterday afternoon near Trout’s Boatyard. An ambulance attended, but the man was already deceased.

Police believe the man was from Exeter, and are not treating the death as suspicious. The man’s next of kin have been informed.
