Piper plays as Tom Chubb’s coffin is carried from Axminster Church

Hundreds packed Axminster’s Parish Church this morning (Wednesday) for the funeral service of local teenager Tom Chubb, killed in a recent car accident.

A piper followed behind the 18-year-old’s coffin as it was carried from the Minster following the ceremony, conducted by the Rector, John Streeting.

Family members, including parents Iain and Eve, led the mourners, which included Tom’s huge circle of friends, many of whom had attended the Axe Valley Community College with him.

Donations were made for work to improve Axminster’s skatepark which is to be a permanent memorial to the much loved teenager.

Further contributions can be sent to W G Potter, Funeral Directors, Williams Potter House, 5 West Street, Axminster, EX13 5NX.
