Group takes second prize for its walking entry - ‘Upstairs, Downstairs’

Members of Colyton and Colyford Memory Café celebrated carnival week in style.

Their afternoon Tea Dance was led by Sonia and John Davies of ‘Dancing for Charity’.

A delicious full afternoon tea was served half-way through and the raffle of classy prizes was the cause of much hopeful anticipation.

And there were celebrations a few days later when the Café’s volunteers took second prize in Colyton Carnival’s illuminated procession for their walking entry – Upstairs Downstairs. Organisers thanked Francine Coultas for helping to make their period costumes.

The next Café - on Wednesday, October 3, in the St John Hall, will welcome Anna Sutherland, who will give ‘A tribute to Joyce Grenfell’.

Liz Heron from Beviss and Beckingsale solicitors will also tell members about Lasting Powers of Attorney.

The Memory Café welcomes anyone who is looking for company, a change of scene and some interesting activity. Its volunteers are trained Dementia Friends. For more information, ring Sue Whitell 01297 599477.
