Fire crews were called out on Thursday, May 5, to deal with a fire at an Exmouth medical practice.

Appliances from Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton attended at around 10am after there was a report of a burning smell at Claremont Medical Practice, in Claremont Grove.

On arrival crews confirmed there was a burning smell on the ground floor and following an investigation a small fire in a light fitting was discovered.

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the fire was already out when they got there.

Crews made sure the light and the area was safe and left duty of care with on-site staff.
