Barry Davis, NCI spokesman, who presented the awards, said: “They are the latest of a number of recent volunteers who have completed their watchkeeping training course and passed their assessment.

“Additional volunteers help to enable Exmouth Coastwatch to continue the new summer regime of increased watch times and thereby provide greater safety for those using the beach and estuary throughout the year.”

Exmouth Coastwatch members recently announced increased watchkeeping times.

From now until the end of October 2018, the team will cover the west end of Lyme Bay, Dawlish Warren, the mouth of the River Exe and sourrounding beaches from 9am until 6pm, seven days a week.

New volunteers are always welcome.
